* Property tax rate for the districts shown
The dollar amount next to each gov't entity is the "taxing" district's amount which it receives from property tax for every $1,000 of assessed valuation.
Thus, for example, let's simplify a few details, round off and say you own a home that the tax assessor gives a value of $200,000 to. To fund Yamhill County's county government, as a land owner you would pay $2.58 per $1,000. And $200k = 200 x $1000. So your total charge would result in your portion of funding to that one body in the amount of $516.00.
Add up all the "tax" districts covering your property (averaging 6 to 9 of them) and that's your total property tax bill.
Naturally, if you are a renter, you don't get off scott free. The property tax generally gets tacked onto your monthly rent, putting upward pressure on the affordability of Oregon housing.
The districts on this page are the major ones.
